Job Hunt

When I concluded that I was leaving my company I started freaking out. What was I going to do? Where was I going to work? I madly applied to a fair number of companies which looked promising or interesting.

Then I reached Zen.

I needed time off, a much needed reset was in order, and then I'd worry about finding something. I concluded there was nothing better than being unemployed in the Summer in Seattle.

So, I put off further job hunting and started planning a vacation.

Then a company I had applied to called and wanted to interview me. I accepted, and (predictably) nailed the interview.

After some long back-and-forth, and a road trip to Yosemite, I accepted their offer. I start this Friday.

Lest I Forget

Oh, that's right, I have a travel blog put in place so I can up date this one and not have to worry about continuity. I've move all the trip-related posts and put them up on http://geektravels.blogspot.com/ . You should pop over there and read them. Plenty more to come.

One thing to note: I'm not 100% caught up with the trip as of right this second, but for sanity's (and clarification's) sake, I'm pre-dating. Dates of posts will correspond with the date the event actually took place.

The Only Thing Constant...

As you can imagine, a lot has happened in the last nine months. One of which is not "I had a baby". I say this only because it's been nine months, and, yeah... no babies. First things first: I left my job. I was fed up. My boss was crazy, and kind of a horrible manager. Ultimately, we couldn't find any common ground, and I had had enough of the last 6 1/2 years of abuse, so that was that. I simply couldn't find the motivation to keep it up. I've been "retried" for 5 weeks now, and it has been amazing. What have I done with my time? Stay tuned!
